Apple today announced that its 36th annual Worldwide Developers Conference will begin on Monday, June 9, and end on Friday, June 13. As with WWDC events since 2020, WWDC 2025 will primarily be an online event that is open to all developers, with no associated cost.

Every WWDC begins with a keynote that happens on the first day of the event, and this year's keynote will take place on June 9. Apple will unveil iOS 19, iPadOS 19, macOS 16, tvOS 19, watchOS 12, and visionOS 3.

WWDC 2025 will feature online sessions and labs so that developers can learn about the new software features and how to incorporate those features into their apps. Both the keynote and the online sessions will be available on the Apple Developer app, Apple website, and YouTube.

While WWDC 2025 is an online event, Apple is planning a special in-person component for select developers and students. The in-person WWDC event will take place on June 9 at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California. Invited attendees will be able to watch the keynote and State of the Union at Apple Park, as well as meet with Apple employees.

Current Apple Developer Program members, Apple Entrepreneur Camp alumni, prior Swift Student Challenge winners, and current Apple Developer Enterprise Program members can enter to attend the June 9 Apple Park event, and Apple will choose participants through a random lottery.

Apple held its Swift Student Challenge in February this year, and winners are set to be announced soon. Those who are named Distinguished Winners will be invited to Cupertino for a multi-day experience.

Apple plans to provide developers with additional information about WWDC 2025 through the Apple Developer app and the Apple Developer website as June approaches.

Huh, seems like the “triple u” is a staple from now on since it’s being carried over from last year. Or it’s just meant to seem like a “part two” to last year’s wwdc, which couple imply MORE Apple Intelligence.
The colors imply EVEN MORE Apple Intelligence, and the opacity of the “25” fit’s, very well, the visionOS look and feel, which is being rumored hard to come to all other OSs.

forget about the apple intelligence mess or the current software inconsistency or the vision pro flop or anything else

1. this design is among the cleanest apple event invites i’ve ever seen, up with april 20 2021 and sept 15 2020
2. this is a huge hint to apple going all in with the glossy design language, and if they actually do put all their time into it, i am so here for it
3. the event being on june 9th is perfectly perfect (for reasons that may or may not be entirely obvious)

a small part of me hopes that wwdc25 will be one to remember (cuz wwdc24 REALLY wasnt)

Given only a third of customers ever engage with it I wonder if they'll just scrap Siri 2.0 altogether and instead relegate it to an accessibility feature instead? I'm not convinced anyone uses it for anything more than timing an egg or checking the weather and am happy to be proven wrong.

Happy to have iOS19 tidy up the visual identity a bit and address the increasing complexity of smart devices. Most of the functions are never used because people don't know how to even make them work. I'd like a circular icon masking option

MacOS needs a Snow Leopard year of stability. I think we'd all be happy with that one.

iPadOS needs the most love. No, it doesn't need to be made into a Mac but it could really do with Finder being ported over, the widget dashboard being killed off so you can access the 'stage' interface on a cold homescreen and notifications being added to the dead space on the control centre screen. I'd also like to be able to embed lockscreen complications on the homescreen as well for a cleaner desktop.

There isn't much they can do with WatchOS but they could bring the Watch app to iPad and Mac.

tvOS is perfect the way it is as it gets out of the way of the content. The settings app is a mess and needs tidying up though. A new A18 model of ATV wouldn't go a miss either.

The one place that needs Apple Intelligence is iCloud.com.
