The fourth-generation iPhone SE will offer a series of major upgrades over the current model, the leaker known as "Ice Universe" claims.

The information was listed in a post on Weibo, which also detailed the specifications of the iPhone 17 lineup. As previously rumored, the fourth-generation iPhone SE is expected to feature Face ID and USB-C, marking a major upgrade from current and previous models that have all featured a Touch ID Home button and a Lightning port.

The device's display will apparently grow in size from 4.7 inches to 6.06 inches and feature an OLED panel for the first time. The new iPhone SE is also expected to tout an A18 chip like the iPhone 16 lineup, 6GB to 8GB of LPDDR5 memory, an aluminum chassis, and a single rear 48-megapixel camera. The fourth-generation iPhone SE will apparently launch between March and May of 2025 with a price point of $499 to $549. The current model launched in March 2022 for $429.

I wonder if it'll have satellite messaging?

That's the only feature that might convince me to upgrade my 13 Pro.

I think it’s a mistake not keeping the $429 price. I would honestly prefer that they use the iPhone 13 mini as the base for the new SE if it means they can keep the price the same as the older models.
The mini always felt like it should have been an SE type of device for those who need to stay connected, but don't live on their phone. My screen time is mostly on my Mac and iPad (both with large screens), with my iPhone just for messaging and quick checks while out and about. Device size is more important than screen size to me, and don't need the latest of anything except OS, just something in the Apple ecosystem.

This is what frustrates me about their approach to iPhones
All these rectangles that are big, bigger and huge with barely any differences between them.

Apple aren't even trying to make iOS products for different customer needs or preferences.

All they are doing is trying to create price points of the exact same thing to get folks to "buy something"... "anything!"

The main purpose of the SE is to be a budget phone. it was just a coincidence that it was a small phone because it used older iPhone designs.
The main purpose was to be cheap (relative to the other iPhonesy).

Well, I guess they could market the SE 4 as “the most powerful phone with a 6.06-inch display”.
