On this week's episode of The MacRumors Show, we talk through the announcement of Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro for the iPad, the latest iPhone 16 Pro rumors, and more.

Earlier this week, Apple unexpectedly announced that Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro are finally coming to the iPad. The new pro apps come with a host of multi-touch optimizations, dedicated tools, and high-end features to support intense creative workflows. Each app is available for $4.99 per month or $49 per year with a one-month free trial. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has suggested that since Apple's mixed-reality headset will run iPad apps, the news effectively means that Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro will be available on the headset.

We discuss the iPhone 15 Pro Max's rumored periscope telephoto camera, which is expected to bring a 6x optical zoom to the iPhone for the first time. In other news, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are rumored to see a display size increase of 0.2-inches. This means that the smaller Pro iPhone model will grow from 6.1-inches to 6.3-inches, and the larger Pro iPhone model will grow from 6.7-inches to 6.9-inches. These devices are also now expected to offer the haptic volume and power buttons originally rumored for the iPhone 15 Pro.

I don’t know why but with the white wall background it looks like you filmed this episode in your underwear 🤔

Why in the world is this 50 minutes!? It's a talk show of the same articles and information they've posted for the past week—by two guys who have no concrete understanding of anything. It's like a mother bird regurgitating food to their baby chicks.

Maybe take this post down. This is bad. Everything about it. Hard to believe electronic blog nerds can’t get audio/video together, also that white contrast is horrendous. Plus there was no good info. I had to fast forward bc it was just a waste of time. I hope this message will help them improve drastically. Makes you appreciate Marques and Linus so much more.

Also the lag reason COULD be to bouncing down audio in 48000hz instead of 44100hz. The sample rate in any video at 24, 30 or 60fps divides easily into 48000hz therefore the lag won’t get worse as the minutes in the video roll. 44100 doesn’t divide equally into any digital format so we use the euro standard of 48000 for audio with video. The standard audio in the states is 44100 which is most all the music you own in your library by an American artist. There is no discernible difference but technically 48000hz is better. You can fit more information in 1 sample. These are things you guys should know tho. I’m a nerd so I know this. I could be wrong but either way I would think you guys should have a little more knowledge than those rookie errors.

Oh also, bit rate may not matter as much for the lag but we normally use 24bit, not 16. Just fyi!

Are these always couldified versions of the app, or do they ever have a standalone app for the iPad?

I'd like to see a standalone version of TurboTax for iPad that didn't require me to have a TurboTax userid/password.
