Yep, I've got about a dozen lights in my house and have never had a problem. I'm a big fan of voice control of my lights.Have a few dozen thread enabled Nanoleaf products and no issues at all.
I can't remember the last time I actually used the switch to turn on the lights.Yep, I've got about a dozen lights in my house and have never had a problem. I'm a big fan of voice control of my lights.
lutron requires a hub and is more expensive. my house is filled with Leviton matter over wifi dimmers which has been flawless(using aT-Mobile 5G modem/router) and does not require a extra hub at a fraction of the cost(I usually wait for monthly sales I pay on average $25 per device). How is this any better or worse than the competition? Lutron has been in this game for a while, and I was hoping more competition would bring prices down, but so far no dice.
The Eve website says:Does it require Internet/cloud connectivity? Or can it run on a private LAN that has no external connectivity?
I'd love to control my lights from all over my house, but I don't want any possibility for someone on the outside to have any access.
Maybe they shipped too early using lousy HW and FW? All I know is I bought about six when they first got thread. The first year was a constant pain of them dropping off the network, failing half way through FW updates and so on. Even today, I only got my network stable by having three of them ripped out and placed in the storage box, so that they can't send their disruptive packets to the rest of the network.Have a few dozen thread enabled Nanoleaf products and no issues at all.
Oooh, thanks for sharing! I invested in the hub for Lutron years ago, so now the incremental cost is just the outlet/switch I need. But you're right, the Lutron is $60, while Levitron is $40.lutron requires a hub and is more expensive. my house is filled with Leviton matter over wifi dimmers which has been flawless(using aT-Mobile 5G modem/router) and does not require a extra hub at a fraction of the cost(I usually wait for monthly sales I pay on average $25 per device).
Lutron and Leviton are the gold standard for electrical components, I wish they were a little more innovative. But besides that both companies offerings are rocksolid.Oooh, thanks for sharing! Maybe I'll have to check out that one.
I got one recently. Was a pretty big pain to get set up, but once it worked it's been great with HomeKit.You can get a Kasa Homekit dimmer for about half that. I just installed one and it worked perfectly from the git-go.
It was a pain to install. But because it was in a 4 bank plate, and the neutral wire was on the other side. I had to install it upside-down, but who cares? Once it's set up, you never touch the switch again!I got one recently. Was a pretty big pain to get set up, but once it worked it's been great with HomeKit.
I still can’t order one from their website for some reason.Has anyone been able to order one of these?
