Am very happy to hear this in the WWDC. Now I can remove one of my airtags from my Airpod Pro. Have always been worried about losing it.

Also glad that it will now remind me when I left something behind!

This is one reason I love apple products. They keep adding features to the hardware purchased!
How does this work? I still don’t understand it. If I leave my headphones somewhere, it’ll alert me that I left them? Only in the case or in and out the case?

Am guessing it works similar to how it is implemented in findmy today. Just that now you can tap on the wide iOS network to locate it just like how an Airtag works.

Oh cool. I didn’t realize it didn’t already do this. I setup my AirTag but didn’t really use it in a real situation yet as I’m still waiting on my nomad keychain accessories.

This is really nice but there's still no separation alert on Apple Watch if iPhone is left behind.

How hard is it to make a separation notification on the Watch when you disconnect from your phone? (ie forget phone but have watch on)

Allegedly these separation alerts do work for Apple Watch, both for watch left behind, and phone left behind.

I don’t know if I’m being really dim or watt but I don’t understand this feature. If I have my phone with me but then I leave it somewhere how can it notify me? How will it know I moved if it didn’t?

It will let you know when you left your airtag, watch, AirPods, etc behind.

Anyone running the beta and able to enable this for AirPod pros? I was able to for another phone / iPad etc but no option exists for my AirPods. They’re by far my most frequently misplaced accessory!

This is quite an interesting feature for apple devices and it helps a lot for users with bad memory

No we just need the ability to share Airtags location with people in the family...
Have two family cars but only 1 of us can track the keys.. come on Apple. Not everyones a single nerd living by themselves.

...I also do not know, how to activate this for the AirPods Pro. Please help! I can enable separation alert for all devices but not for the Airpods.

Nice, so the 30 bucks I spent on an Airtag weren't wasted after all. ;) I haven't found any other use for the thing yet. But I have left behind jackets and/or bags on a few occasions, so this should give peace of mind.
Could say the same for all the insurances I pay for, damn waste of money ;)

I was looking for this in Shortcuts the whole time - to notify if a connected Bluetooth or WiFi device is lost. Android's Tasker app could long do this, so really glad we finally have this functionality now (for AirTag at least).

Ah, got it. So doesn't really work for warn about iPhone, but you can use iPhone if you forget the other items.

Correct, plus if you have an apple watch it will warn when you leave your phone behind.

These comments contradict each other. If the Apple Watch doesn't warn you that you've left your phone behind, hopefully it will be added in a future update. My better half once left a phone in a chair in an airport. We were on the plane and about to close the door when he realized he didn't have his phone. I can't believe they let him go get it, but they did.

Doesn't this cover all devices? Meaning not just your phone, but also your MacBook?

(And, if AirTags are released in a thinner version, your credit card -- something all too easy to forget at a restaurant, but current airtag is too thick for that to be comfortable.)

Like others above, I can't get the offer to set notifications for AirPods Pro. Has anyone gotten it to work? It's the alert I'd like best!

Phone Buddy (and other apps too?) does this for $4.99. It's so dumb Apple didn't add this. All it would have to do is tap your wrist if the iPhone went out of range.

This will be a really good asset for helping people not forget children in the car. Put an airtag on them and get an alert if you step out of the car!

Will this work in the opposite direction also? What if the AirTag itself moves out of range? ..instead of the iPhone(you) moving?
