You are wrong when you state "A device like this has no practical purpose." There are lots of buyers, including me, who might love having such a device properly done. I and many others would love having an iPhone Pro + iPad mini in one device that fits in my pocket. Such a device would be hella useful, not "no practical purpose."
The only thing that might stop me from buying one would be less camera competence.

What’s the practical purpose then?

I already explained how it needs to hit certain dimensions to be more portable when folded OR more useful when unfolded.

I love your proposal, in my head I had something similar in terms of the form factor.

It is a mix between the Huawei Pura and the first Pixel Fold.

That’s what people who design products do.

People who design products attempt to do so for the highest yield. Making a product only 10 people want makes little sense. I respect your opinion but, again, it is only yours.
