I'd rather wished it detected when it is time for you to go too pee or poo...
So you don't see anything weird about Apple thinking it's their duty to find whether your child has autism. Because, why not?If machine learning can be used to process & identify information *on device* and do so in a way that nobody other than the device owner can access it, what’s the problem? 🙄
Because big bosses at Apple sit there and brainstorm stuff like scanning your library and running IA on your face id map to figure out whether you have autism (supposedly).
Don't they have better things to do? This is what Apple considers relevant these days
No, they’re potentially providing a optional tool to help YOU determine if your child has autism, and then seek a professional opinion/diagnosis.So you don't see anything weird about Apple thinking it's their duty to find whether your child has autism. Because, why not?
So you don't see anything weird about Apple, a consumer electronics company, considering diagnosing Autism their business, by using the biometric sensors they implemented to unlock their devices? No, they’re potentially providing a tool to help YOU determine if your child has autism, and then seek a professional opinion/diagnosis.
Society is really weird at the moment - people are fearful & paranoid about trivial things yet fearless in the face of actual dangers.

Apple needs to let users decide what to do with all of those sensors and all of that computing power before they scare all of us away. (Fairly sure I've already bought my last iPhone. Too much, Apple. Far too much.).
It's implicit in using their hardware for doing so without anybody asking them to do it.Where was that mentioned?
Nope. What if a third party developer decided to produce an app with the same functionality & purpose? Is that more acceptable and if so, why? You choose to use it or not either way. I think this research is interesting and provided it’s all on-device & private, I don’t give a hoot what my device is capable of doing. So you don't see anything weird about Apple, a consumer electronics company, considering diagnosing Autism their business?
Really? Can you cite where that was stated? Or are you just making stuff up?It's implicit in using their hardware for doing so without anybody asking them to do it.
There is a decision making process here.
So I can op out? Apple will rollout an iOS Version expecially for me without the scanning code included? Then simply don't opt in for the autism check should that come to being.
"Don't they have better things to do?"
It's called research. You may not be aware of what that's about.
Ah ok, if you find it normal there is nothing I can possibly say.Nope. What if a third party developer decided to produce an app with the same functionality & purpose? The only way to opt out is NOT to buy Apple devices. If that`s what they aim for, you are welcome.
If we are to believe the rumor, somebody had to decide it. Why do you change the subject so stubbornly? Do you work for Apple or are you a shareholder?
It seems to me you know a lot. There are some things you shouldn’t do, no matter how noble or innocent your intentions are, because from the outside it looks just plain weird or suspicious. Street smarts are a real thing and I think Apple’s social justice and other crusades blind them from common sense and reading the room.
It’s not always about being brave and thinking different, especially when your ideas just don’t sit well with people, and I don’t mean stubborn haters.
But hey, what do I know?
I am totally aware of that, but please read my post again and you will understand.Yes, you may not be aware that yes, you can opt out or in with respect to many health/diagnostic/etc. aspects iOS and MacOS.
I'm surprised you didn't know that.
Apple hasn't stated anything nor published a white paper.Changing the subject? We're talking about the rumor regarding the research Apple is apparently conducting with respect to autism detection, right? Or are you thinking it's about the Apple Car?
And I wanted a pony, but had to settle for a bicycle.I am totally aware of that, but please read my post again and you will understand.
I want an OS WITHOUT this kind of code included in the software. I don't care if can "opt out" somehow, which may work or not ...

"According to anonymous people" is a rumor, to my mind.
